Our Story: A Legacy of Faith, A Future of Impact

The story of All Nations Church (ANC) is a powerful testimony of faith, obedience, and transformation that spans five decades. It begins in the early 1970s when the late Bishop Winston Desford Maxwell, while serving as a pastor in London, England, visited Springfield, Massachusetts, as a delegate of Calvary Church of God in Christ. During that visit, he connected deeply with Missionary Fannie Jewell, whose invitation and encouragement—guided by the Spirit—would soon help launch a ministry that would touch countless lives.

In 1973, Bishop Maxwell immigrated to the United States with his family. After a season of prayer and spiritual discernment, he consecrated the first floor of a home at 14 Brown Street in Springfield as a sanctuary. There, alongside his wife Mother Christine Maxwell, Missionary Jewell, Sis. Claudia Lee, and Bro. Hubert Maxwell, he founded what was then known as the All Nation Church of God in 1976.

From these humble beginnings, the church quickly grew—marked by vibrant worship, powerful deliverance, and a deep sense of community. As the membership expanded, so did the ministry. In 1987, the congregation moved to a new worship space at 67 Kenyon Street, which served as a spiritual home for over 30 years. These years saw the birth of new auxiliaries, youth ministries, community services, and the beginning of international missions.

In 1999, the church’s missionary vision led to the planting of a sister church in Wakefield, Trelawny, Jamaica. Though the partnership later evolved into a separate ministry—The Redeemed Deliverance Church of God—the commitment to missions and global outreach remained strong.

A major transition occurred in 2002, when Pastor Doyle St. Louis was appointed Senior Pastor. With his wife, First Lady Evangeline St. Louis, he faithfully shepherded the church for nearly two decades. Under his leadership, the church expanded its outreach efforts and navigated major milestones, including the eventual move into a permanent new home.

After years of prayer and perseverance, the church acquired its current building at 70 Leete Street, a 20,000-square-foot facility that opened for worship on December 15, 2019. This move marked the beginning of a new chapter—both spiritually and organizationally.

In October 2021, Pastor Robert Carter was installed as Senior Pastor, ushering in a season of renewal and forward vision. Under his leadership, the church has continued to grow and serve while embracing its updated identity as All Nations Church—or simply ANC—a name that reflects the global, multicultural, and inclusive spirit that has always defined its ministry.

Today, ANC remains a thriving, multi-generational, multicultural community rooted in biblical truth and empowered by the Holy Spirit. As we prepare to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2026, we honor our founders, celebrate our growth, and boldly step into a new season—equipping passionate disciples to impact culture, cities, and nations for the Kingdom of God.
